Poem : Father’s Day
With a smile he wakes me everyday
His actions have shaped my life’s way
After working hard in his shop all day
At night with me he still had time to play
Sitting in AC rooms with fancy chairs
I cannot even fathom all that he bears
With the little he had he bought so much
Not just joys but toys, poise and lunch
On his feet all day, no respite from rain and sun
He teaches values from which we must not run
He showed me the world it’s truth and it’s lies
Be it Mecca or Africa each day he made us wise
His efforts to get me here now shows in his hair
His glare keeps us safe from the vicious snare
Tough time he made it seem like nothing
To my own I wonder if I’ll ever be something
So soon and it’s night again
We didn’t even get to play in the rain
