Poem : War & Apathy
The road ahead my friend looks very dark
But don’t frown yet cause there is still a spark
This path we are on is strewed with hate
I don’t know why this is always mankind’s fate
Do you not remember what we saw back there
When the moustached friend for all had little care
The singing birds we love, that chirp so loud
Forever their rhyme was lost, we had found
Didn’t you see at the start of our long walk
The dance of the fauna that only nature could chalk
Why then did we try to steal her drawing board
And scribble this scheme which by all is abhorred
She will forgive the theft, but will we survive the test
Righteous has very few left, for pride has taken the rest
But in those very few, on this path I find my spark
Take cover from his wrath as on this cart we embark
It is a known fact that she will rebuild her road
Even If all is lost, and none can stand the load
The mystery that remains then as we now restart
Is if we are able to stand still or do we fall apart
And if we fall this time, will it be our last
For her forgiveness too cannot be that vast
